Gastonia Cat Clinic

Feline-Friendly Care at Carolina Cat Clinic

At Carolina Cat Clinic, we are pleased to be able to offer a medical and surgical wing that is specially designed to provide feline-friendly veterinary care. Bringing your cat to the vet can be stressful for both of you – doubly so when your feline companion encounters other kinds of animals, smells, and sounds. Our cats-only clinic is designed to take as much stress out of your cat’s visit to the vet as possible. Our Gastonia veterinarians are trained in special methods to take good care of your cats when you bring them in to see us. We strive to make getting your cat veterinary care as stress-free as possible.

Vaccinations for Cats

While there are a variety of vaccines that are recommended for both cats and dogs, there are a few vaccines that are specific for feline diseases which we recommend for most cats. At Carolina Cat Clinic, our veterinarians will be able to help you understand the various feline-specific diseases these vaccines protect against. We’ll make recommendations based on your cat’s age, breed, and lifestyle.

We often recommend vaccines for the following feline-specific diseases:

  • Panleukopenia: Kittens aged four weeks or older should be vaccinated against this disease
  • Calicivirus: We recommend two or three injections for kittens, starting at 8 weeks of age
  • Rhinotracheitis: Kittens eight weeks or older can receive this vaccine, but will need boosters every 3-4 weeks until they are about 20 weeks old
  • Feline leukemia virus: Kittens can receive this vaccine or adult cats, especially those who spend time outdoors

Feline Boarding Services

When you need to travel for business or pleasure, ensuring that your cat is well taken care of while you’re away is often top of mind. Carolina Cat Clinic offers specialized feline boarding services on site. We do everything we can to make sure your cat is as comfortable as possible in their home away from home.
